Seminole County Parrot Rescue and Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 designated non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing homes for parrots and other pet bird species that have to be relinquished. We take in birds that are either lost, no longer wanted, or that people have become unable to care for due to age, illness, life changes and other circumstances. We adopt out many of our birds after finding the best forever homes for each individual, and sometimes, if the bird needs special care or thrives as a part of our flock, we find that the best forever home for them is to stay with us at the rescue, where we will make sure they receive the best care and unconditional love for the rest of their lives.
We primarily use our Facebook page to provide updates on our incoming birds as well as those who have been adopted! If you are interested in adopting a bird from us please email Ellen Sherman at Ellensherman220@aol.com to request an adoption application.
Due to time constraints as well as new AWA regulations about exhibiting birds we cannot allow walk-ins to view the birds. Appointments will be made only for people interested in volunteering, relinquishing birds, or those who are at that stage in the adoption process and can be scheduled by calling us at 407-474-3565.
In September of 2022 Seminole County Parrot Rescue was flooded by Hurricane Ian and our bird barn was under water, we were heartbroken, but fortunately all of our birdies and other animals were unharmed and were moved to temporary homes until we could provide a safe space for them again. Due to the severity of the damage to our old building and how slowly the water is still receding it became apparent we needed to build a new structure higher up on our property to bring back our fostered residents and to continue to help other birds in need find their forever homes. Our new building is now open, and we are again able to take in birds that need our help.
